Gombe United Unveil Promotion Specialist Muniru Abdul-Azeez As New Technical Adviser

Gombe United Football Club have officially unveiled Muniru Abdul-Azeez, popularly known as Coach Sabo, as the club’s new Technical Adviser ahead of the new football season.
Coach Sabo arrives at the Savannah Scorpions with extensive experience in Nigerian domestic football and a strong track record of helping teams secure promotion and compete successfully at different levels.
The experienced tactician previously worked with El-Kanemi Warriors, where he served as Head Coach and was part of the technical crew that played a key role in the club’s promotion from the Nigeria National League (NNL) to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) in 2012.
He was also part of the technical setup that contributed to El-Kanemi Warriors’ successful promotion campaign and Federation Cup triumph in 2024.
Most recently, Coach Sabo was the Technical Adviser of DMD, guiding the side to promotion from the Nationwide League One (NLO) to the NNL in 2026.
His history of achieving promotion at different levels of Nigerian football highlights his tactical experience, leadership qualities and ability to build competitive teams.
Gombe United management expressed confidence that his experience and winning mentality will provide a fresh impetus to the club’s technical department as the Savannah Scorpions pursue their ambitions for the new season.
