Nigeria international Akor Adams continued his impressive scoring form after netting the decisive goal in Sevilla’s dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over Villarreal CF in a thrilling LaLiga encounter on Wednesday night.
The hosts made a flying start to the game, racing into a two-goal lead inside the opening 20 minutes through strikes from Gerard Moreno and Georges Mikautadze.
Despite the early setback, Sevilla FC responded positively and reduced the deficit in the 36th minute through Oso. The visitors then restored parity just before halftime when Kike Salas found the back of the net to make it 2-2.
With both sides searching for the winner in the second half, Adams emerged as Sevilla’s hero after scoring the decisive goal 18 minutes from time to complete a remarkable turnaround for the Rojiblancos.
The goal marked the Nigerian striker’s second consecutive game on the scoresheet and his 10th league goal of the season.
Sevilla will now shift attention to their next LaLiga fixture where they are set to host Real Madrid CF on Sunday.
