Chelsea FC have officially parted ways with head coach Liam Rosenior following a disappointing run of results that has left the club struggling to meet expectations this season.

The decision comes on the back of a dismal streak in the Premier League, where the Blues suffered five consecutive defeats without finding the back of the net—an alarming dip in both form and confidence.

Rosenior’s time at Stamford Bridge proved to be brief, lasting just 23 matches. Having only taken charge in January, the 41-year-old spent a little over three months in the role, making his tenure one of the shortest for a permanent Chelsea manager in recent history.

In an official statement, the club confirmed the development, expressing appreciation for Rosenior’s efforts despite the outcome.

“Chelsea Football Club has today parted company with Head Coach Liam Rosenior,” the statement read. “We would like to thank Liam and his staff for their commitment and professionalism during their time with the club.

“This has not been a decision taken lightly. However, recent performances have fallen below the standards required, particularly at a crucial stage of the campaign. We wish Liam every success in his future endeavors.”

Stepping in on an interim basis is Calum McFarlane, who will lead the team until the end of the season. He will be supported by the existing backroom staff as Chelsea aim to salvage their campaign, with ambitions of securing European qualification and progressing in the FA Cup.

The club also emphasized its intention to conduct a thorough review process as it searches for a long-term managerial solution, signaling a desire to restore stability and direction ahead of the next campaign.
