Odigbo Local Government Football Stakeholders Congratulate Oladimeji Abimbola, Appreciate Governor Aiyedatiwa

The Odigbo Local Government Coaches Association, Referees Association and Clubs Owners have congratulated Coach Oladimeji Abimbola on his appointment as Chairman of the Ondo State Sports Council by the Executive Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
The sports stakeholders described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Coach Oladimeji Abimbola’s experience, dedication and contributions to sports development, particularly at the grassroots level.
In a statement jointly issued by the associations, they expressed their profound appreciation to Governor Aiyedatiwa for the confidence reposed in Coach Oladimeji Abimbola and for considering competence, experience and commitment in the constitution of the new Ondo State Sports Council.
They said the appointment is not only a source of joy to the people of Odigbo Local Government but also a significant development for the entire sporting community in Ondo State.
The stakeholders urged the newly appointed Chairman to use the instrumentality of his office to revamp and reposition sports in the state, with particular attention to grassroots development, talent discovery, athletes’ welfare, coaching development, officiating and the growth of football and other sporting disciplines.
They further called on Coach Oladimeji Abimbola to carry all relevant stakeholders along and create an enabling environment where young talents can be discovered, nurtured and provided with opportunities to excel at national and international levels.
“We appreciate His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for this remarkable gesture and for giving an experienced sports personality the opportunity to contribute to the development of sports in Ondo State. We are confident that Coach Oladimeji Abimbola will justify the confidence placed in him.”
The associations also congratulated other members of the newly constituted Ondo State Sports Council, Babatunde Martins Boriwa and Ibiloye Matthew Abiodun, while wishing the entire council a successful tenure.
They pledged their continued support, cooperation and partnership with the new Sports Council towards achieving the administration’s vision of repositioning sports and restoring Ondo State to its rightful place as one of Nigeria’s leading sporting states.
Congratulations to Coach Oladimeji Abimbola on this well-deserved appointment, and appreciation to Governor Aiyedatiwa for the confidence and opportunity.
