In a heartwarming display of sportsmanship, the Super Falcons players paid a visit to Banyana Banyana midfielder Gabriela Salgado in Casablanca on Tuesday.
Salgado sustained a serious injury in Banyana Banyana’s 2-1 defeat to Nigeria at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium, Casablanca, on Tuesday, suffering a fracture in her left leg following an accidental collision.
The 27-year-old player underwent successful surgery at the Mohammed VI University Hospital on Wednesday and is expected to be out of action for about a year.
Despite the injury, the Super Falcons players showed their compassion and kindness by visiting Salgado in the hospital.
Banyana Banyana will face Ghana in the third-place match at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations on Friday.
The Super Falcons, on the other hand, will take on hosts Morocco in the final on Saturday.
