‎Nottingham Forest have parted ways with head coach Ange Postecoglou only 39 days after his appointment, marking the shortest permanent managerial tenure in Premier League history.

‎The Australian was dismissed barely 17 minutes after Forest’s 3–0 home defeat to Chelsea at the City Ground on Saturday — a result that capped a dismal run of form for the Reds.

‎Postecoglou, who took charge on September 9, failed to secure a single victory in his eight matches at the helm, recording two draws and six defeats across all competitions. Under his leadership, Forest collected just one point from five Premier League fixtures, slipping perilously close to the relegation zone.

‎A club statement released shortly after the defeat read:

‎ “Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that after a series of disappointing results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties as head coach with immediate effect.

‎The club will make no further comment at this time.”

‎The decision leaves Forest in 17th place, just one point above the drop zone — though results later in the day pushed them into the bottom three.

‎Postecoglou’s backroom staff — including Nick Montgomery, Mile Jedinak, and Sergio Raimundo — are also expected to depart alongside the former Tottenham boss.

‎Reports suggest Forest are eager to appoint a new manager swiftly. The club has considered Sean Dyche among potential replacements, while there is also renewed interest in Fulham’s Marco Silva, who previously worked under Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis during his time at Olympiacos.

‎Postecoglou’s exit brings a swift and turbulent end to a managerial reign that promised renewal but yielded only frustration.
