Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu has praised his players for their impressive display in the 3-0 victory over Tunisia in the opening Group B fixture at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The nine-time champions dominated the game, with goals from Asisat Oshoala, Omorinsola Babajide, and Chiwendu Ihezuo securing a convincing win.
“The ultimate goal for you is to win. And the fact that the team won, obviously, it is only natural that we are happy that the team won,” Madugu said after the game.
Despite opportunities missed in front of goal, Madugu was pleased with the team’s performance.
The Super Falcons top Group B with three points and will face Botswana in their second group game on Wednesday. Algeria defeated Botswana 1-0 in the other group game, setting the stage for a crucial match for the Super Falcons.
