Emiloju FC March Into 2026 1xBet Cup Round of 16 After Goalless Draw
Emiloju FC of Surulere, Lagos, have progressed to the Round of 16 of the 2026 1xBet Cup following a hard-fought 0–0 draw against JP Young Stars FC in their Group A encounter.
The decisive fixture, played on Wednesday, October 1, saw both sides battle for supremacy, but neither team was able to find the back of the net before the final whistle.
Despite the goalless outcome, the result was enough for Emiloju FC to continue their campaign in the competition, marking another important step in the club’s development and pursuit of success in the 2026 1xBet Cup.
Emiloju FC entered the encounter with confidence following a 2-1 victory over BYT Academical on September 23. That victory had come after a 3-1 defeat to Vido 99.
The progression therefore represents a significant achievement for the club, which has continued to demonstrate determination and resilience throughout the competition.
Speaking on the encounter and Emiloju FC’s progression, Chairman Alhaji Musiliu Jimoh Alao expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance and advancement to the next stage.
“It was a difficult encounter, but the players showed character, discipline and commitment from the beginning to the end. A goalless draw may not tell the whole story of the effort put in by the team, but what matters most is that we have achieved our objective of progressing to the next round. We are proud of the players and the technical team.”
The chairman also praised the team’s progress in the competition, noting that the Round of 16 qualification should serve as motivation for the players to work even harder.
“Our journey is not over. Reaching the Round of 16 is an important milestone for Emiloju FC, but we want to go further. We will continue to support the team and ensure that the players remain focused, disciplined and committed to the club’s ambitions.”
The latest result keeps Emiloju FC’s campaign alive and sets the stage for another important challenge in the knockout phase.
With the Round of 16 now ahead, attention will turn to the club’s preparation, as the Surulere outfit looks to build on its progress and continue its impressive run in the 2026 1xBet Cup.
