Chaos In Aba: Enyimba Training Disrupted As Sporting Director Storms Stadium With RRS Officials
Tension erupted at Enyimba FC’s training facility on Monday following an alleged disagreement involving the club’s Sporting Director, Daniel Eke.
Witnesses present at the training session reported that Mr. Eke arrived at the facility accompanied by officers reportedly from the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), which resulted in a complete halt to the team’s training operations.
It was also confirmed that certain club officials were removed from the training facility during the incident.
This occurrence follows Enyimba’s 1-0 home loss to Inter Lagos in Aba on Sunday, a defeat that has intensified scrutiny of the team’s performance.
Anonymous sources indicated that the Sporting Director allegedly expressed satisfaction regarding Sunday’s outcome.
The Monday situation reportedly necessitated intervention from club Chairman Ambassador Kanu Nwankwo, who reportedly worked to de-escalate the situation.
At the time of reporting, players, coaching staff, and all personnel had proceeded to the station.
The club has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident.
Looking ahead, Enyimba will seek to move past internal matters as they prepare for their midweek match against Sporting Lagos in Aba.
