Arsenal have officially been crowned Premier League champions for the 2025/26 season, ending a painful 22-year wait for league glory after Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday night.
The dramatic result at the Vitality Stadium confirmed Mikel Arteta’s side as champions with one game still remaining in the season. Arsenal now sit comfortably at the top of the table with 82 points, four ahead of defending champions Manchester City, who can no longer catch the North London club heading into the final round of fixtures on Sunday.
Bournemouth stunned Pep Guardiola’s side shortly before halftime when teenage sensation Junior Kroupi curled home a brilliant effort to put the hosts ahead and ignite celebrations among Arsenal supporters around the world.
Manchester City pushed hard for a comeback after the break, but Bournemouth goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic produced several crucial saves, including a superb stop to deny Nico O’Reilly. Although Erling Haaland eventually found an equaliser late in the game, Bournemouth defended bravely to secure the draw that handed Arsenal the title.
The triumph marks Arsenal’s 14th top-flight league title and their first since the unforgettable 2003/04 “Invincibles” campaign under legendary manager Arsène Wenger, when the club completed an entire league season unbeaten.
Since taking over in December 2019, Mikel Arteta has transformed Arsenal into one of Europe’s most exciting teams, building a youthful and disciplined squad capable of competing at the highest level.
Several players played pivotal roles in Arsenal’s remarkable title-winning season. Goalkeeper David Raya delivered consistency between the posts, while Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice and William Saliba produced outstanding performances throughout the campaign. Victor Gyökeres and Gabriel Magalhães also contributed vital goals in crucial moments as the Gunners maintained their title charge.
The title success also represents a significant milestone for Arsenal’s long-standing partnership with Visit Rwanda, which is set to conclude in June after several years of collaboration.
Arsenal will officially lift the Premier League trophy following their final league match of the season away to Crystal Palace on Sunday, sparking celebrations among supporters eager to witness the club’s long-awaited return to the summit of English football.
