‎Goals, drama, heartbreak and resilience took centre stage on Matchday Four of the 2025–2026 Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) season, delivering one of the most entertaining rounds so far. Across the country, emphatic victories, hard-fought draws and late twists began to shape both the title race and the early relegation battles.

‎From Lagos to Yenagoa, Lafia to Benin City, the league once again showcased its depth, unpredictability and growing intensity.

‎Robo Queens Send Title Warning in Explosive Lagos Derby

‎At the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Robo Queens produced the standout performance of the week, dismantling Lagos Dannaz Ladies 5–1 in a fiery Lagos derby.

‎Local bragging rights often level the playing field, but Robo Queens wasted no time asserting dominance. They pressed aggressively from the opening whistle, moved the ball with purpose and capitalised ruthlessly on every defensive error.

‎Kemi Adegbuyi opened the scoring in the sixth minute, with Tosin Rafiu doubling the advantage just three minutes later. Although Dannaz briefly threatened a response through Augusta Chukwuma, Robo Queens quickly extinguished any hopes of a comeback. Opeyemi Ajakaiye struck twice with calm authority, while Robiat Yusuf added a late fifth to cap a clinical display.

‎With four wins from four matches, Robo Queens now lead Group B on twelve points, four clear of their closest challengers. For Dannaz Ladies, the heavy defeat deepens their relegation concerns and highlights glaring defensive issues.

‎Naija Ratels Left Reeling After Two-Goal Lead Slips Away

‎In Abuja, Naija Ratels appeared poised for their first win of the campaign after storming into a two-goal lead against Heartland Queens within twenty-two minutes. Goals from Onu Markwell and Paulina Orshio had the Bwari Stadium buzzing with optimism.

‎However, the second half told a different story. Heartland Queens showed admirable composure and belief, pulling level through strikes from Emmanuella James and Faith Samson. The 2–2 draw felt like a defeat for the hosts, but a morale-boosting result for the visitors.

‎Osun Babes Earn Respect in Gritty Goalless Encounter

‎In Ile Ogbo, Osun Babes delivered one of their most disciplined performances of the season, holding Remo Stars Ladies to a hard-fought 0–0 draw.

‎Despite coming into the game as underdogs, Osun Babes attacked with courage, defended resolutely and pushed for a winner until the closing stages. Remo Stars Ladies’ goalkeeper proved decisive, producing a string of vital saves to preserve a point.

‎Edo Queens Stay Relentless in Benin

‎At the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Edo Queens continued their steady title push with a composed 2–0 victory over Adamawa Queens. Chioma Moses converted from the penalty spot just before halftime, before Atume Doosuur sealed the win in the second half.

‎The result further underlined Edo Queens’ balance, combining defensive solidity with sharp finishing.

‎Rivers Angels Grind Out Narrow Victory

‎In Port Harcourt, Rivers Angels edged past a stubborn Ibom Angels side 1–0 in a tightly contested affair. Ramotalahi Kareem scored the decisive goal midway through the second half in a match defined by patience, experience and tactical discipline.

‎It was not spectacular, but it was effective  often the hallmark of champions.

‎Bayelsa Queens Deepen Pacesetters’ Struggles

‎At the Samson Siasia Stadium, Bayelsa Queens recorded their third win of the season with a convincing 2–0 victory over Pacesetters Queens. Blessing Ilivieda opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Aminat Folorunsho doubled the lead before halftime.

‎While Bayelsa continue to build momentum, Pacesetters’ fourth defeat of the campaign leaves them rooted near the bottom and searching for solutions.

‎Goalless Stalemates in Lafia and Among Newcomers

‎In Lafia, Abia Angels produced a disciplined defensive display to hold Nasarawa Amazons to a shock goalless draw. Meanwhile, newly promoted Ahudiyannem Queens and Sunshine Queens also shared the points in a 0–0 encounter, with Sunshine extending their unbeaten away run.

‎Delta Queens Finally Break Through

‎In Asaba, Delta Queens claimed their first win of the season with a spirited 3–1 comeback victory over Confluence Queens. After conceding early, Delta responded strongly, with late goals from Tsebee Rita Seember and Amarachukwu Onuorah sealing the turnaround.

‎For Confluence Queens, a lapse in concentration proved costly as they suffered a third straight defeat.

‎Week Four by the Numbers

‎A total of nineteen goals were scored across Matchday Four, with the highest tally coming in Lagos. The round produced four home wins, one away victory and four draws, highlighting the league’s competitive balance.

‎As the season gathers momentum, the pressure continues to mount. For some clubs, the Super Six dream is becoming clearer, while for others, the fight for survival has already begun.
