Zimbabwe have named a strong 28-man provisional squad ahead of World cup qualifier against Super Eagles of Nigeria. Determined to give Eagles a run for their experience and strength, the Warriors technical crew have reportedly extended invitation to foreign based stars to march the Eagles shot for shot and pass for pass

The provisional squad was unveiled on the Zimbabwe Football Association’s X handle on Wednesday.

Among the players are Udinese defender Jordan Zemura, Marley Tavaziva of Brentford, Leicester City’s Tawanda Maswanhise and Isaac Mabaya of Liverpool.

Also, Marvellous Nakamba of Luton Town, Tinotenda Kadewere of Lyon and Andy Rinomhota of Cardiff City made the cut.

The Warriors will open their 2026 World Cup qualifiers on November 15, 2023 with a trip to Rwanda.

Then on November, 19, they will remain in Rwanda to face the Super Eagles in their second Group C game.

Zimbabwe was disqualified from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The last time Zimbabwe and the Eagles clashed was in an international friendly game in Asaba, Delta State in 2019 which ended goalless
