Club Owners Empathize With Doma United Over Road Accident

The leadership of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Club Owners Association led by Chief Okey Kpalukwu has emphasized with the management of Doma United of Gombe state whose team was involved in an automobile accident on Monday morning on their way from Owerri after the match day 35 fixture with Heartland football club.

Chief Kpalukwu who was saddened by the news wished the players and officials involved in the incident quick recovery.

 

“On behalf of the Club Owners Association of Nigeria, I want to thank God that no deaths were recorded in the accident that involved players and officials of Doma United. Looking at the pictures of the vehicle, I can say that this can only be God who didn’t want us to mourn at a time the curtains are almost drawn in the league”.

 

Recounting how the accident happened, Doma United chairman, Alhaji Umar Suleiman explained that the slippery nature of the road caused the accident.

 

“I can’t say exactly if the driver was speeding or not but what I gathered from my team is that it was raining and while negotiating a sharp bend, the driver lost control and the vehicle skidded off the road along the Makurdi-Lafia road. I thank God that

there was no fatality but several players and officials sustained injuries and are being treated in hospital”.

Doma United lost its match day 35 game 3-1 to Heartland football club in Owerri on Sunday.
