Datti Appointed To AMFC Executive Board At Conakry Congress

The President of the Nigeria Minifootball Association, Alhaji Umar Yusuf Datti, has been appointed as an Executive Board Member of the African Minifootball Confederation (AMFC).

 

The appointment was announced during the AMFC Annual Congress held on Friday, 28th February 2026, in Conakry, Guinea, with proceedings commencing at exactly 9:45am.

 

The congress began with the arrival of delegates from various African countries, followed by official group photographs to mark the historic gathering.

 

In his welcome address, the AMFC President warmly received members and reflected on the Confederation’s remarkable 10-year journey, highlighting milestones, growth, and the expanding footprint of minifootball across the continent.

 

A comprehensive statutory report was presented to all member nations, outlining administrative, technical, and developmental progress achieved over the past year.

 

Key issues discussed at the congress included:

 

Sponsorship opportunities and partnerships

 

Government support for minifootball development

 

Player registration and documentation processes

 

Building new administrative and competition systems

 

The President also expressed deep appreciation to Guinea for its commitment and hard work toward the growth of minifootball in Africa.

 

In a landmark decision, it was announced that the Confederation’s new headquarters will be based in Guinea for the next 10 years.

 

Elections were also conducted for the positions of Vice President I, II, and III, with Guinea, Chad, and Mauritius emerging victorious respectively.

 

The highlight of the congress for Nigeria was the appointment of Alhaji Umar Yusuf Datti to the AMFC Executive Board a significant recognition of his leadership and Nigeria’s growing influence in African minifootball administration.
