Super Eagles forward Terem Moffi has emerged as a transfer target for Turkish giants Besiktas and Portuguese powerhouse FC Porto as he pushes for an exit from French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice before the close of the current transfer window.
According to reports, the 26-year-old striker is keen to leave Nice following a difficult period at the club, which has seen his relationship with the fans deteriorate significantly.
Moffi was reportedly assaulted by supporters last November after Nice’s 3–1 defeat to his former club, FC Lorient, an incident that has had a major impact on his time at the club.
Since that unfortunate episode, the
Nigerian international has not featured in any competitive match for Nice, further fueling speculation over his future.
Moffi is understood to have already initiated the process for the termination of his contract as he seeks a fresh start away from the French Riviera.
Besiktas are closely monitoring the situation and have identified Moffi as a potential replacement for Tammy Abraham, who is expected to complete a move to Premier League side Aston Villa.
The Istanbul-based club believe the Super Eagles striker fits their attacking profile as they plan for the remainder of the season.
FC Porto are also in the race, with the Portuguese giants reportedly looking to bolster their attacking options and viewing Moffi as a viable addition to their squad.
Despite his off-field challenges, Moffi has managed to score two goals in 10 league appearances for Nice this season, underlining his quality and experience at the top level.
With interest growing across Europe, a move away from Ligue 1 appears increasingly likely for the Nigerian striker in the coming weeks.
