The All Sports Supporters’ Club of Nigeria (ASSCN) has congratulated the Super Eagles on their commendable bronze medal finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), describing the achievement as a proud moment for Nigerian football and a testament to the team’s resilience, determination, and fighting spirit.
In a statement released after the third-place victory, the supporters’ body praised the players, technical crew, and entire backroom staff for their commitment and professionalism throughout the tournament, despite the stiff competition and challenges encountered.
The club also extended heartfelt appreciation to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the National Sports Commission (NSC) for their vital support before and during the competition, noting that strong institutional backing remains key to the continued growth and success of Nigerian football.
Speaking on behalf of the All Sports Supporters’ Club, the Deputy National President, Alhaji Musiliu Jimoh Alao, who led the official supporters’ delegation to Morocco, singled out the Nigeria Football Federation for special commendation for sponsoring the club’s instrumentalists to the tournament venue.
According to Alhaji Alao, the presence of the instrumentalists provided continuous motivation for the Super Eagles and created a vibrant Nigerian atmosphere in the stadiums throughout the competition.
“We sincerely thank the National Sports Commission for sponsoring our instrumentalists to Morocco.
”Their presence played a crucial role in boosting the morale of the players and ensuring that the Super Eagles felt the strong support of Nigerians from the stands.
”It clearly shows that the NSC recognises the importance of organised supporters in international competitions,” Alhaji Musiliu Jimoh Alao stated.
He added that the unity between the team and supporters strengthened national pride and contributed positively to the team’s overall performance at the championship.
The All Sports Supporters’ Club reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to supporting Nigerian athletes and national teams across all sporting disciplines, while calling for sustained collaboration between sports administrators and recognised supporters’ groups.
The club concluded by urging Nigerians to remain steadfast in their support for the Super Eagles as the team prepares for future international engagements, expressing confidence that even greater achievements await Nigerian football.
