The Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Unified Supporters’ Club has reaffirmed its commitment to rallying strong support for the Super Eagles of Nigeria as they prepare to face Rwanda in a crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Uyo.
Speaking ahead of the high-profile encounter, the IMC Chairman, Prince Vincent Okumagba who arrived Uyo on Thursday, disclosed that thousands of supporters have already arrived in Uyo, while many others are still en route from different parts of the country.
He revealed that buses conveying supporters departed from Lagos, Delta, Bauchi, Niger, and several other states, with the sole mission of creating an electrifying atmosphere for the national team.

Prince Okumagba praised the National Sports Commission (NSC) and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for their continued support, which has greatly strengthened the efforts of the Unified Supporters’ Club.
In particular, he singled out NSC officials Shehu Diko and Bukola Olopade for their backing, especially as the group makes preparations to accompany the Super Eagles to South Africa for their next qualifier in Bloemfontein.
He explained that although the initial plan was to allocate 120 slots for the Unified Supporters’ Club delegation to South Africa, this had to be reviewed due to the limited capacity of Bloemfontein Airport.
However, arrangements are being finalized to ensure that a significant number of band members, instrumentalists, and group leaders make the trip to boost morale and provide vocal encouragement for the team.

Okumagba emphasized that the supporters are deploying personal resources to ensure maximum presence both in Uyo and South Africa, reiterating that the group expects nothing less than victory from the Super Eagles.
“Anything short of victory is not acceptable to us. We have committed our time, energy, and finances to ensure the Eagles are well-supported. We believe strongly that Nigeria will collect maximum points from both games,” he declared.
The IMC Chairman also extended further gratitude to the NFF for its consistent partnership and logistical support, which he described as invaluable in mobilizing nationwide fan backing for the national team.
Currently, Nigeria sits third in Group C of the African World Cup qualifiers, trailing leaders South Africa by six points.
With the stakes higher than ever, the Super Eagles will be aiming for a vital win against Rwanda in Uyo tomorrow before traveling to Bloemfontein to take on South Africa.
