Nigerian striker Gift Orban has signed a loan deal with Hellas Verona, a Serie A club, from TSG Hoffenheim, a Bundesliga outfit.
The loan agreement includes an option to buy, which would see Orban join Verona permanently for €8 million next summer.
Orban, 23, joined Hoffenheim from Olympique Lyonnais in January 2025 and made a promising start, scoring four goals in his first six appearances.
However, he struggled with injuries and a loss of form, eventually scoring four goals in 13 appearances across all competitions.
This loan move to Hellas Verona offers Orban a fresh start in Serie A, where he can revive his career under coach Pablo Zanetti.
If Hellas Verona decides to trigger the buyout option, Orban’s contract would run until June 2029.
This deal provides Verona with flexibility, allowing them to assess Orban’s performance before committing to a permanent transfer.
Orban’s career has seen him play for several clubs, including Stabaek, KAA Gent, and Olympique Lyonnais.
His move to Hellas Verona is seen as an opportunity for the Nigerian forward to regain his form and make an impact in Serie A.
