‎The Home-based Super Eagles of Nigeria were held to a 0-0 draw by Zanzibar in a pre-2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) friendly match on Monday.

‎Despite dominating possession throughout the game, Eric Chelle’s side failed to break down the hosts’ defense.

‎Rivers United’s Taiwo Abdularafiu showed great skill and determination on the field.

‎Anthony Ijoma’s performance was notable, and he created several scoring opportunities for his team.

‎Leonard  Ngenege’s defensive skills were impressive, and he helped to keep the Zanzibar attack at bay.

‎Nigeria and Zanzibar will clash again in a second friendly match on Thursday.

‎ The two friendlies are part of the Home-based Super Eagles’ preparation for the 2024 CHAN tournament.

‎The Home-based Super Eagles are expected to move to their official base after the second friendly on Thursday.

‎The team will focus on fine-tuning their skills and strategies in preparation for the CHAN 2024 finals.

‎The CHAN 2024 finals will kick off this weekend, hosted by three countries: Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. The Home-based Super Eagles will face tough competition from other top teams in the tournament.
