Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) has officially parted ways with its technical adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote, General Manager Dimeji Lawal, and the entire technical crew, effective immediately.
Ogunbote rejoined the Oluyole Warriors on August 22nd, 2022, for a third stint and has now concluded his tenure after two years and eleven months.
During his time with the club, Ogunbote led the team to several notable achievements, including winning the Doxy Nmobuosi Super Cup, the Oyo State Federation Cup, and the Seyi Makinde Football Volunteer Movement trophy.
However, the team’s performance in the second half of the 2024/25 Nigeria Professional Football League season was challenging, with 4 wins, 6 draws, and 8 losses in 18 matches, resulting in an eighth-place finish.
The decision to part ways with Ogunbote and the technical crew marks a new direction for the club. 3SC is actively compiling a shortlist of experienced coaches, with the aim of making a swift appointment ahead of the upcoming season.
The Oluyole Warriors recently participated in the Eko International Cup as part of their preparations for the 2025/2026 NPFL season, which kicks off on August 22nd, 2025.
