Nigeria’s Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, has been named Woman of the Match following her side’s 2-1 semi-final victory over South Africa’s Banyana Banyana at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca.
Ajibade scored the opening goal from the spot late in the first half, her first goal at the ongoing 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The 25-year-old winger has been in excellent form, registering two assists in the competition in addition to her goal.
This is not the first time Ajibade has won the individual accolade in Morocco, having previously picked up the award in Nigeria’s 1-0 win over Botswana in the group stage and again in the quarter-final 5-0 victory over Zambia.
Ajibade’s consistent performance has been a key factor in the Super Falcons’ success so far in the tournament.
Her ability to score crucial goals and provide assists has made her a vital player for the team. The Super Falcons will now face Morocco in the final, and Ajibade will be looking to continue her impressive form and help her team lift the trophy.
