Wikki Tourist Fc of Bauchi coach Abdu Maikaba has attributed his team’s goalless draw against Barau Fc to the players’ inability to capitalize on scoring opportunities.
Maikaba expressed his disappointment in a post-match interview, citing the missed chances as a crucial factor in the team’s failure to secure a win.
“We played to win, but squandered all the chances that came our way. I’m not happy about that, because if we had won today, it would have brightened our chance of promotion,”
Maikaba said. He also criticized the level of officiating in the game, accusing the referees of having a plan to eliminate Wikki Tourist Fc from the tournament.
Wikki Tourist Fc will face a tough challenge in their final game against Yobe Desert Stars Fc on Thursday.
The team will need to secure a win to keep their promotion hopes alive. Maikaba’s comments suggest that the team is facing an uphill battle, both on and off the pitch.
