AFCON Qualifiers:All Sports Supporters’ Club Hails Super Eagles’ Comeback Victory Over Madagascar

The All Sports Supporters’ Club has congratulated the Super Eagles of Nigeria following their hard-fought 2-1 victory over Madagascar in their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying encounter in Uyo.
The Super Eagles came from behind to secure all three points in a dramatic encounter, with two debutants, George Ilenikhena and Moses Usor, finding the net to complete Nigeria’s comeback.
Madagascar took the lead in the 16th minute through Couturier, putting the Super Eagles under early pressure.
Nigeria, however, responded just before the interval when debutant George Ilenikhena restored parity on the stroke of halftime. The young forward finished off a fine move after receiving a wonderful assist from Alex Iwobi to make it 1-1.
The Super Eagles continued their push for victory after the restart and were rewarded when another debutant, Moses Usor, produced a brilliant individual effort to put Nigeria ahead and seal the 2-1 comeback victory.
The encounter attracted strong support from the All Sports Supporters’ Club, with several chieftains of the organisation present at the stadium to rally behind the national team.
Among those in attendance were the President of the All Sports Supporters’ Club, Barrister Johnson Dagana, and the Deputy National President, Alhaji Musiliu Jimoh Alao, who joined other members of the club in cheering the Super Eagles throughout the encounter.
Reacting to the victory, the All Sports Supporters’ Club congratulated the players and technical crew for their resilience and fighting spirit, particularly after conceding an early goal.
The club said the comeback demonstrated the determination and character of the Super Eagles, while commending Ilenikhena and Usor for making impressive contributions on their international debuts.
The supporters’ body also urged the team to quickly turn its attention to the next assignment, stressing that the victory over Madagascar must serve as motivation for the players ahead of their next qualifying fixture.
The Super Eagles are scheduled to face Guinea-Bissau on Tuesday in another crucial 2027 AFCON qualifying encounter.
The All Sports Supporters’ Club called on the players to remain focused, disciplined and determined, while assuring the team of the continued support of Nigerian football fans.
The club further urged Nigerians to continue supporting the Super Eagles as they pursue qualification for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
With the Madagascar victory secured, attention now shifts to Guinea-Bissau, as the Super Eagles look to build on their hard-earned success and maintain their momentum in the qualifying campaign.
The All Sports Supporters’ Club wishes the Super Eagles success in their next encounter and calls on all Nigerian supporters to continue standing firmly behind the national team.
