Cristiano Ronaldo finally secured his first major trophy in Saudi Arabia as Al-Nassr were crowned champions of the Saudi Pro League following a commanding 4-1 victory over Damac on Thursday night.

The Portuguese icon delivered a match-winning performance at the King Saud University Stadium, scoring twice as Al-Nassr wrapped up their first league title since 2019 in dramatic fashion on the final day of the season.

Heading into the decisive encounter, the Riyadh-based club knew only a victory combined with a better result than fierce rivals Al-Hilal would guarantee them the championship. Under immense pressure, Al-Nassr rose to the occasion in style.

Former Liverpool star Sadio Mane opened the scoring before French winger Kingsley Coman doubled the advantage to put the home side firmly in control. Dhamk briefly threatened a comeback through Morlaye Sylla, whose strike reduced the deficit and created tension among the Al-Nassr faithful.

However, Ronaldo once again proved decisive when it mattered most. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner restored Al-Nassr’s two-goal cushion with a sensational free-kick from a difficult angle before adding another from close range to complete the victory and spark wild celebrations inside the stadium.

The triumph marks Ronaldo’s first major silverware since joining Al-Nassr in 2023 and represents a significant milestone in his glittering career in the Middle East.

The emotional significance of the title was evident throughout the night. After netting his second goal, Ronaldo was seen pointing passionately towards the supporters while fighting back tears. The veteran forward was also visibly emotional at the final whistle as celebrations erupted on the pitch.

The title success comes after several painful setbacks for Al-Nassr in recent weeks. The club suffered heartbreak in the final of the Asian Champions League Two and also missed an earlier opportunity to seal the league crown after a dramatic 98th-minute own goal by goalkeeper Bento handed Al-Hilal a late equaliser in a tense 1-1 draw.

Despite those disappointments, Al-Nassr showed resilience and determination to finish the campaign strongly and edge out their rivals in one of the closest title races in recent Saudi Pro League history.

At 41 years old, Ronaldo once again demonstrated his enduring class and winning mentality, inspiring Al-Nassr to a memorable championship triumph that will further cement his legacy as one of football’s greatest icons.
