The Technical Advisor to the Ekiti State Governor on Sports, Dr. Olusola Osetoba, has been nominated by the organisers of the Nigeria Sports Achievers Awards to receive the prestigious Strategic Impact in Sports Development Award, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the growth and transformation of sports in Ekiti State and across Nigeria.
A former General Manager of the Ekiti State Sports Council, Dr. Osetoba has remained a driving force behind the revitalisation of sports structures in the state. Since assuming office as Technical Advisor, she has brought renewed vision, structure, and energy into the sector, championing grassroots development, enhancing athlete welfare, and promoting policies aimed at sustainable sports excellence.
Under her guidance, Ekiti State has witnessed a steady resurgence in sporting activities, with improved organisation of competitions, increased participation at youth levels, and stronger representation at national events. Her commitment to talent discovery and development has also helped position the state as an emerging hub for sporting excellence.
Speaking on the nomination, the Operations Manager of the Nigeria Sports Achievers Awards, Barrister Taiwo Oduoye, praised Dr. Osetoba’s impact and dedication to service. He described her as “a visionary leader whose strategic approach to sports development has yielded measurable results,” adding that her efforts continue to inspire a new generation of athletes and administrators within and beyond Ekiti State.
