Joy Omewa made a memorable first impression for Nottingham Forest Women, scoring a brilliant goal on her debut despite her side’s 5–1 defeat to Birmingham City Women in the English Women’s Super League Division Two.

The forward only arrived in England on Friday and had just one training session with her new teammates on Saturday, making her immediate involvement even more remarkable.

Despite the limited time to settle in, Omewa was handed a starting role on Sunday — a decision she repaid with an eye-catching performance.

Showing confidence, composure and sharp attacking instinct, she found the back of the net to draw Nottingham Forest level, delivering a crucial equaliser that briefly reignited her team’s hopes.

Her well-taken strike underlined her quality and ability to make an instant impact, capping a whirlwind few days since completing her move to England.

Although Nottingham Forest eventually fell to a heavy defeat, Omewa’s debut goal stood out as a major positive and a promising sign of things to come in her new chapter with the club.
