Nigeria’s Super Eagles will arrive in Fèz, Morocco on Thursday as preparations intensify ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The team will depart their Cairo training camp later today, with team officer Promise Efoghe confirming that players and officials are set for the journey to the Moroccan city, which will serve as Nigeria’s base for the tournament.
Upon arrival, the three-time African champions are scheduled to hold their first training session in Fèz at 6:00pm local time, marking the next phase of their build-up to the continental showpiece.
The Super Eagles opened their AFCON preparations in Cairo on Monday and tested their readiness with an international friendly against hosts Egypt on Tuesday. Despite a spirited display, Eric Chelle’s side fell 2–1 to the Pharaohs at the Cairo International Stadium.
Nigeria has been drawn in Group C alongside Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda. The Super Eagles will begin their AFCON 2025 campaign against Tanzania’s Taifa Stars next Tuesday, before facing Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles on December 27. Their group-stage journey will conclude with a clash against Uganda’s Cranes on December 30.
All of Nigeria’s Group C matches will be played at the Grand Stade de Fèz, as the Super Eagles aim to make a strong statement in their quest for continental glory.
