Super Eagles midfielder Christantus Uche delivered a standout performance on Thursday night as Crystal Palace cruised to a 3–0 victory over Shelbourne in their Europa Conference League fixture.
Uche, making only his second appearance in the competition, wasted no time in stamping his authority on the match. The Nigerian midfielder opened the scoring in the 11th minute, finishing off a flowing Palace move with composure.
Just 14 minutes later, he turned provider. Uche produced a brilliant defence-splitting pass to set up Eddie Nketiah, who doubled Crystal Palace’s lead in the 25th minute, giving the visitors full control of the match.
Palace continued their dominance as Yeremi Pino added a third in the 37th minute, effectively putting the contest beyond Shelbourne before halftime.
The emphatic win lifts Crystal Palace to 9th position on nine points, while Shelbourne remain rooted in 34th place with just one point as their struggles in the competition continue.
Uche’s goal and assist will undoubtedly boost his confidence as he continues to fight for more playing time and looks to cement his place in the squad.
