‎The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has sealed a groundbreaking five-year commercial partnership valued at ₦2 billion, signaling a major leap in the league’s modernization and media visibility drive.

‎The agreement, signed with Inview Technologies Nigeria Limited and AS Production Hub Limited, includes a mandatory ₦800 million upfront activation fee, making it one of the most significant financial commitments in Nigerian domestic football history.

‎Under the deal, NPFL matches will now air on free-to-air television and digital streaming platforms, a move expected to greatly increase audience reach and enhance fan engagement nationwide.

‎Speaking during the official signing ceremony, NPFL Chairman Otunba Gbenga Elegbeleye described the partnership as a bold step towards a more innovative and accessible football ecosystem.

‎“We want every Nigerian household whether in villages, towns, or major cities to have easy access to NPFL matches. Our focus is to create consistent, high-quality content that fans can enjoy on multiple platforms,”

‎said Elegbeleye.

‎He emphasized that the new deal is part of a broader strategy to unbundle the league’s commercial structure and attract more partners.

‎ “This partnership with Inview and AS Production Hub doesn’t exclude others. The NPFL is opening its doors to additional broadcasters. More partners will mean more revenue, wider coverage, and greater development opportunities for our clubs and players,”

‎he added.

‎In his remarks, NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau commended the NPFL leadership for laying the groundwork for a commercially viable and professionally managed league.

‎ “Progress may seem gradual, but what the NPFL is building is foundational. With consistency, transparency, and patience, we will soon see the full transformation of the league,”

‎Gusau stated.

‎In addition to the broadcast deal, the NPFL also signed a ₦600 million data partnership with Round Up Technology, which includes an annual ₦140 million payment for technical data services covering player statistics, match analytics, and league performance metrics.

‎This marks the first time in NPFL history that the league will earn structured commercial revenue directly from data mining and monetization — aligning with international best practices already adopted in Europe’s top leagues.

‎Among the dignitaries at the event were Charles Ebuebu, Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC); Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA); and Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace, Director-General of Voice of Nigeria (VON), along with other top government and industry figures.

‎With its new broadcast unbundling, data commercialization framework, and open-door policy for media partnerships, the NPFL appears to be entering its most commercially promising era yet — one that could redefine the future of Nigerian football.
