All Set for OMPG25: Osun Military Paramilitary Games Set to Foster Unity Through Sports.

‎All is now set for the Osun Military Paramilitary Games 2025 (OMPG25), a multi-sport championship designed to strengthen camaraderie, discipline, and unity among officers of the military and paramilitary formations in Osun State.

‎The press conference to herald the Games was formally declared open by the Controller of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Osun State Command, Rotimi Oluwadele, who lauded the organizers for their foresight in creating a platform that blends service and sportsmanship. He emphasized that the Games go beyond physical competition, describing them as “a celebration of resilience, teamwork, and national service.”

‎“This initiative is more than a tournament; it’s a bridge of friendship among all security agencies,” Oluwadele stated.

‎“Through sports, we build stronger bonds and nurture a spirit of healthy rivalry that ultimately enhances our collective efficiency as protectors of the people.”

‎Representing the Deputy Governor of Osun State, His Excellency Prince Kola Adewusi, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Sports, Mr. Layi Adesiyan, reaffirmed the unwavering support of the state government for the Games.

‎He noted that the Adeleke-led administration recognizes the vital role of sports in promoting wellness, peace, and synergy across institutions.

‎“The Osun State Government will continue to support initiatives that foster harmony and contribute to the mental and physical well-being of our officers,” he said. “We believe OMPG25 will set a new pace for collaboration and community engagement through sports.”

‎The General Manager of the Osun State Sports Council, Mr. Ademola Daini, also expressed delight at the organization and scope of the event. He commended the foresight of the planning committee and described the Games as “a timely intervention that uses sports as a tool for unity and morale-building.”

‎“It’s heartwarming to see all service formations, military, police, correctional, immigration, customs, civil defense, coming together not for duty this time, but for a celebration of strength and friendship,” Daini said.

‎Adding his voice, the Chairman of the Osun Sports Officers Association, Mr. Olufemi Bankefa, reflected on the vision behind the competition. According to him, the Games were conceived to encourage teamwork, discipline, and inter-agency understanding.

‎“We are one big family serving the same state,” he remarked. “Sports give us a shared space to interact beyond the uniform and hierarchy. That’s what OMPG25 represents, a unified Osun.”

‎Speaking on behalf of Ace Sports, the partner and main organisers of the event, the Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Olayinka Olawole, highlighted the organisation’s commitment to enhancing the sports ecosystem in Osun and across Nigeria. He praised the collaboration between the state government and various service agencies, promising an unforgettable edition of the Games.

‎“At ACE Sports, we believe in the power of sports to build community,” Olawole said. “OMPG25 will not only showcase athletic excellence but will also spotlight the discipline, dedication, and humanity of our service men and women.”

‎In his closing remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of ACE Sports, Olayiwola Olafiranye thanked everyone that has supported the initiative so far. He further asked for continuous support to make it even bigger.

‎“Our vision is to use sports as a unifying force, one that inspires excellence, discipline, and togetherness. The Osun Military Paramilitary Games represent what we stand for: partnership, progress, and passion for a stronger sporting culture in our society.”

‎The Osun Military Paramilitary Games 2025 will officially kick off with a grand opening ceremony on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025, at the Aderemi Sanni Stadium, Adeleke University, Ede, starting at 10 a.m. The event will be graced by dignitaries including the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, the Executive Governor of Osun State, His Excellency Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, and the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun.

‎The Games will feature a wide range of sports, including football, volleyball, athletics, field events, table tennis, and tug of war, running through November 4th, 2025.

‎With the enthusiasm already building across Osun’s sporting community, OMPG25 promises to be more than a tournament, it will be a festival of strength, service, and solidarity, uniting men and women who serve the state under a common banner of peace and excellence.
