Orumogege Football Competition Unveils ₦3.5m Prize Money for Second Edition

The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the Orumogege Football Competition has officially announced a prize package worth ₦3.5 million for the second edition of the prestigious grassroots tournament.
The competition, which will kick off on September 8, features both male and female teams and is organized in honor of the Soun of Ogbomosoland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye (Orumogege III).
Prize Breakdown
Winners: ₦1,000,000 each (male & female categories)
Runners-up: ₦500,000 each (male & female categories)
Third place: ₦250,000 each (male & female categories)
Registration Details
A total of 40 teams—male and female—are expected to participate, drawn from within and outside Ogbomosoland.
Registration fees:
Male teams – ₦15,000
Female teams – ₦10,000
Payments are to be made to the Orumogege Sports Promotion Service account with Zenith Bank, using the official club name for verification. Teams are also required to forward proof of payment to the designated WhatsApp number for confirmation.
Objective
The Orumogege Football Competition seeks to promote grassroots sports in Ogbomoso while providing a vibrant platform for youth development. The initiative reflects the vision of the monarch, who remains deeply committed to harnessing sports as a tool for community growth and empowerment.
