Nigerian forward Tolu Arokodare is on the verge of joining Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers.
According to Belgian news outlet HLN, Wolves are preparing a €25m offer for the Genk striker.
Arokodare, 24, was the top scorer in the Belgian Pro League last season, netting 21 goals.
His impressive performance has drawn interest from several top clubs, including AC Milan and Napoli. Wolves are targeting him as a replacement for Jørgen Strand-Larsen, who is expected to join Newcastle United before the transfer window closes.
Arokodare cost Genk €5m two years ago, and the Belgian club is now looking to make a significant profit from his sale.
Wolves have reportedly agreed on personal terms with Arokodare for a five-year contract, and negotiations are ongoing regarding payment terms and bonuses.
Arokodare has been left out of Genk’s squad for Thursday’s UEFA Europa Conference League fixture against Bulgarian side Lezh Poznan to minimize any risks.
This move suggests that the transfer is imminent, and Genk wants to avoid any potential injuries or issues that could jeopardize the deal.
