Bayelsa Queens emerged victorious in their WAFU Zone B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers matchday 2 fixture, defeating ASKO FC of Togo 3-0 on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, in Yamoussoukro.
The Prosperity Girls dominated the match, with Oumou Ban’s own goal in the 47th minute, Alaba Olabiyi’s strike in the 55th minute, and Shakirat Moshood’s goal in the 80th minute securing the win.
The first half of the game ended goalless, with both teams creating anxious moments. ASKO FC came close to scoring in the 23rd minute, but Monle Omini in goal for Bayelsa Queens made a crucial save, denying the Togolese side an early lead.
The game plan change in the second half paid off for Bayelsa Queens, as they took the lead through Oumou Ban’s own goal. Alaba Olabiyi and Shakirat Moshood’s goals sealed the win for the Prosperity Girls.
Bayelsa Queens head coach Whyte Ogbonda praised his players for their zeal and determination. Coach Busari Hakeem, who stood in for Coach Whyte Ogbonda, echoed similar sentiments, stating that they were eager to get the 3 points and aware of ASKO’s strength. He added that the team would continue to take one game at a time.

Bayelsa Queens FC will face Sam Nelly FC of Benin Republic on Saturday. The Prosperity Girls have already qualified for the semi-finals of the competition, having secured 6 points from their two matches against Police Ladies FC of Ghana and ASKO FC of Togo.
