Nigerian Centre-Back Awaziem Signs Three-Year Deal with FC Nantes

FC Nantes has signed Nigerian international centre-back Chidozie Awaziem from Colorado Rapids, both clubs have announced.
Awaziem, 28, has joined Nantes on a permanent basis, signing a three-year deal with the French club.
This move marks a return to La Beaujoire for Awaziem, who previously spent the 2017-2018 season on loan with Nantes from FC Porto.
Awaziem will wear the No. 6 jersey with Nantes and has expressed his excitement about joining the club.
”I didn’t hesitate for a second to come back, because for me, Nantes is like home,” Awaziem said. “The people are lovely, the club is great, and I was really looking forward to returning to this environment.”
Colorado Rapids President Pádraig Smith wished Awaziem well in his new chapter, saying, “We’re grateful to Chido for his time with the club this season. We wish him nothing but success in this next chapter.”
