Nasarawa State To Host 4th Edition Of Gusau-Ahlan Preseason Football Tournament

The highly anticipated 4th edition of the Gusau-Ahlan Preseason Football Tournament is set to kick off at the end of July 2025 in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
This prestigious preseason competition will feature top Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clubs, providing a vital test ground for teams to assess their new signings and squad readiness ahead of the 2025/2026 NPFL season.
Several top NPFL sides have confirmed their participation, including Abia Warriors, Katsina United, Kano Pillars, El-Kanemi Warriors, Plateau United, Warri Wolves, Barau FC, and Wikki Tourists.
Other teams from both the topflight and lower divisions are also expected to participate.
The tournament coordinator, Abahurai Dahiru, has revealed that preparations are in top gear, with the Nasarawa State Government proudly hosting this year’s edition.
The Nasarawa State Football Association, in collaboration with the State Ministry of Youth and Sports, has been working closely with the tournament committee to ensure the event’s smooth and successful execution.
The Gusau-Ahlan Football Tournament not only provides clubs with a competitive edge before the season starts but also promotes grassroots development, scouting opportunities, and unity within the Nigerian football community.
