Nigerian Striker Onuachu Returns To Trabzonspor On Permanent Deal

Nigerian international Paul Onuachu has completed a permanent transfer to Trabzonspor from Southampton.
The Turkish Super Lig side has signed the 31-year-old teams, with the deal reportedly worth €5.6 million ($6.6 million).
The transfer is a significant loss for Southampton, who signed Onuachu from Belgian Pro League side KRC Genk for €18m in January 2023.
Despite managing four goals and one assist in 25 league outings for the Saints last term, Onuachu has returned to Trabzonspor, where he had a successful loan spell in the 2023/24 season.
During his loan spell, Onuachu scored 17 times in 25 appearances for Trabzonspor, showcasing his impressive goal-scoring ability.
The Nigerian international’s return to Trabzonspor is expected to bolster the team’s attacking options.
Trabzonspor finished third in the Turkish top-flight last season and will look to improve their performance this term. Under Fatih Tekke’s management, the team will take on Kocaelispor in their opening fixture of the season on Sunday, August 11.
