Nigerian Defender Omeruo Signs With Romanian Champions CFR Cluj

Nigerian defender Kenneth Omeruo has signed with Romanian club CFR Cluj on a free transfer.

 

The 31-year-old centre-back has joined the eighth-time Romanian champions after leaving Turkish Super Lig club Kasimpasa.

 

Omeruo has played in some of Europe’s top leagues, including England, Spain, the Netherlands, and Turkey.

 

He has represented Chelsea, Middlesbrough, ADO Den Haag, CD Leganes, Kasimpaşa, and Alanyaspor.

 

Omeruo has earned 69 caps for Nigeria, serving as captain and playing key roles in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cups.
