Bayelsa Queens secured another victory over Rivers Angels as prosperity girls opened 2025 NWFL with a victory.

Bayelsa Queens and Rivers Angels had met twice the season.

The first leg encounter in Port Harcourt ended in draw while Bayelsa Queens defeated River Angels in the return leg in Yenagoa.

Both sides knew picking maximum points in the opener of a crucial playoff match would not be negotiable.

Alaba Olabiyi fired home the only goal of the game in the thirty-four minute of the match.

However,Rivers Angels had a chance to restore parity in the second half after an infringement was spotted in the box.

Ifeoma Ikenokwalu who was entrusted the spotkick failed to beat Bayelsa Queens’ goalie Monle Omini.

Rivers Angels will battle Edo Queens on Monday while Bayelsa Queens tackle Nasarawa Amazons.
