NPFL:Saviour, Maduforo On Target As Rangers Int’l End Remo Stars’ Six Games Winning Streak

Issac Saviour, Kingsley Maduforo were all on target for the Flying Anteoples, as they secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over league leaders, Remo Stars, on Sunday, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.

The encounter which was a Matchday 24 clash, saw the defending champions ended the visitors six games winning streak, when Saviour slotted home a delightful free kick, to give the Fidelis IIechukwu’s led side 1-0 lead, in the 30th minute of the game. As they went into the break with a 1-0 lead.

In the second half, the host doubled their lead 2-0, after former Heartland FC forward, Maduforo finished up a brilliant cross from left back Kenneth Igboke in the 49th minute.

With the final minutes of the encounter, the sky Blue Stars pulled a goal back through Sikiru Alimi, to reduced the deficit 2-1, in the 90th minute, but it wasn’t enough to helped them to secure a point on the road in Enugu.

With the defeat, Remo Stars still sit eight points clear of second placed Shooting Stars, who also suffered a 2-1 defeat to Heartland FC in Owerri, in the other Matchday 24 games played across eight centers.
