FC Ebedei will play Wonderxchange FC for a place in the Cool Hopefuls Cup final but have to overcome their Akure-based foe in the semi-finals after overcoming the teams in Group A, garnering 9 points from three matches.
The Oliseh Boys, B.E Arena FC, FC Ebedei JNR and Wonderxchange FC reached the last four after a tough final round of group matches, with MatchDay 2 and 3 simultaneously played at Pitch A and B of the FC Ebedei Stadium in Apele-Sagamu on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Ebedei Sports College-sponsored preseason and scouting tournament will see new kids on the block and a clean sheet FC Ebedei JNR take on high-scoring B.E Arena FC in the second knock-out fixture billed for Friday.
In the final round of matches decided, AAYK FC became the only team not to earn a point, losing to all the teams in the group and rued their poor defending with less than five minutes to end the tie against B. E Arena FC.
Despite taking the lead via a strike by Adebiyi Oke, AAYK FC succumbed to the firepower of B. E Arena FC, who later won the game with two late strikes.
It was a superb comeback for Elebuibon Boyz FC, who, after proceeding to first-half goals, fought back to draw 2-2 with The Lord’s Favour FA.
The game between FC Ebedei and SDK FC was a simple contest as Shile Lawal and Miracle Osekene scored in both halves, leaving Lawal to be the leading top scorer with 4 goals.
