NNL 2025: Wikki Tourist Fall To Gombe United in Thrilling Derby In Gombe

Matchday 6 of the Nigeria National League (NNL) 2025 saw Wikki Tourists suffer their first defeat of the season, with a 2-1 lost to Gombe United, at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe on Sunday.

Haruna Aliyu gave Wikki Toursis the lead, in the 44th minute, when he head home a brilliant Nasiru Jibrin’s corner kick, setting the stage for an intense encounter.

Despite dominating the game for most of the period, Wikki Tourists couldn’t hold onto their lead.

In the 81st minute, Shedrack Anthony leveled the score for Gombe United with an impressive solo effort from a right-wing cross.

The hosts sealed the win in the 86th minute when Hassan Abubakar capitalized on a rebound From the crossbar, heading in the decisive goal to the delight of the home crowd.

Wikki Tourists will aim to bounce back in their next game at home against Sokoto United.
