Semi Ajayi Faces Spell on Sideline,Set To Miss Nigeria AFCON Qualifiers Against Benin Republic And Rwanda

Nigeria Defender, Semi Ajayi has been ruled out of action for four months.
Ajayi suffered a hamstring injury in the second half of West Bromwich Albionās Sky Bet Championship clash with Cardiff City last weekend.
The Baggies manager Carlos CorberƔn revealed that the centre-back will be sidelined for a lengthy spell.
CorberƔn stated that the defender will undergo surgery in the coming days.
āSemi, unfortunately, has suffered a more difficult injury. It was an action which was an accident. In this action, he has broken his muscle in two parts,ā the gaffer told the clubās official website.
āThe best way to manage this injury is with surgery because surgery helps reduce the risk of suffering this type of injury again.
āThere are injuries which affect the tendon in specific areas where you have to have surgery. The surgery delays things by around two weeks, but it also reduces the risk of the injury reoccurring.
āReturning in about 16 weeks is the approximate time when you have this type of surgery. ā
Ajayi will now miss Nigeriaās 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda in November.
