Paris 2024:We Need To Invest In The Future And Invest In Sports-Rena Wakama

The head coach of Nigeria women’s basketball team D’Tigress Rena Wakama has urged Nigerian government to invest in Sports.

Wakama’s D’Tigress became the first African basketball team to qualify for a quarter-final of any Olympic games after defeating both Australia and Canada at the group stage of 2024 Olympics.

D’Tigress bowed out of the Olympics yesterday after losing 74-88 to USA.

Wakama in chat with journalists after the game believes the future is bright for the team

“The future is Bright,we need to invest in us, we need to give these girls other resources for them to get to the podium and win a medal.

“We have the talents, everyone on the team is Nigeria,we didn’t get anybody from outside,we are all Nigerians,born and raised in Nigeria
