2024 U-17 World Cup: Flamingos Thrash Burkina Faso 6-0 To Reach Final Qualifying Round

The Nigeria U-17 Women’s team Flamingos this evening reached last Women’s U-17 last qualifying round after trouncing Burkina Faso 6-0 in Abuja.

 

Recall Flamingos were forced to one-on-one draw a week ago in Mali by Burkina Faso.

 

Chidi Harmony who scored the only goal at the first leg opened the scoring for Nigeria

 

Mary Effiong doubled the lead while Chidi Harmony followed up with her second of the match.

 

Layi Kareem netted the fourth goal with a sublime finish.

 

Chidi Harmony completed her hat-trick with another wonderful and exquisite finish.

Three teams will represent Africa at this year’s FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Dominican Republic.

 

The competition will run from 16 October to 3 November, 2024.

 

At the 2022 FIFA U-17 women’s World Cup in India, the Flamingos finished third.

 

The Flamingos will face final the winner of the Senegal/Liberia fixture in the final qualifying round.

 

The Senegalese lead 3-1 going into the second leg in Monrovia this weekend.
