Victor Osimhen and Alhassan Yusuf missed Super Eagles training on Monday, January 15, 2024, as the team prepares for the AFCON clash vs Cote d’Ivoire.

Both players started the Nigeria vs Equatorial Guinea game on Sunday.

While Victor Osimhen lasted the entire ninety-minutes, Alhassan Yusuf went off with injury in the second half.

Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro led the lads out for training on Monday, with 22-players including Kelechi Iheanacho and Paul Onuachu taking part in the session.

Among the three players who did not take part in the session was OGC Nice striker Terem Moffi who was offered time to rest having only joined the team on Sunday.

Yusuf was seen running on the sidelines while reigning Africa player of the year Victor Osimhen sat on the mat.

According to latest updates from the Super Eagles camp, there are no serious injury concerns and so all 25-players are expected to take part in training on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

Nigeria will face Cote d’Ivoire on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at the Alassana Oauttara Stadium, Abidjan hoping to get maximum points to boost their chances of reaching the next round.
