Osun Monarch Champions Padel Tennis in Anticipation of Osogbo Launch

In preparation for the introduction of Padel Tennis in Osogbo, the capital city of Osun State, the “ipadel team” paid a courtesy visit to Oba Dr Adebayo Faforiji, Oteniara III, Alamuye of Amuye-Faforiji, who enthusiastically pledged support for the upcoming event.

Oba Dr Adebayo Faforiji, a devoted sports enthusiast, warmly welcomed the team and assured them of his unwavering support. “As a sports lover and advocate for development, I’m honored to welcome you. This is a significant development for Osun State and Nigeria as a whole. I will always be available to support you in every way. It’s a positive initiative that will engage both youth and adults in sports,” he shared.

The former commissioner for works and transport in Osun State advised the team to expand the project beyond a small circle, emphasizing the long-term sustainability of Padel Tennis. He also committed to participating in free play sessions at the tennis courts.

Expressing gratitude, Mr. Olusola Alabi, the media and publicity manager of the team, known as “Ijoba Sports,” thanked Oba Dr Adebayo Faforiji for the warm reception and kind support. “We appreciate your guidance and advice. Having you as our supporter is crucial, and we believe your contribution will propel us forward. We won’t take your support for granted,” Ijoba Sports explained.

Prior to the visit, the ipadel team established ties with the leading radio station in Osun State, Rave 91.7fm, Agunbelewo, Osogbo. They appeared on the station’s sports program “Sports Drive,” providing in-depth insights into the game and shedding light on the free play sessions scheduled for January 6th and 7th.
