The highly-anticipated boxing clash between Nigerian female boxer Adijat Gbadamosi, known as “Dija,” and her counterpart Salimat Tibesigwa, originally set for December 22nd, 2023, has been postponed to February 17th, 2024.
The decision, explained by Dija in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, aims to increase awareness and provide additional time for rigorous training.
“I appeal to all my fans worldwide for the postponement. I understand your eagerness to witness the fight and defend my title, but this change allows me more time to prepare adequately for the event,” Dija expressed.
Acknowledging the tremendous support from her promoter, Dija urged boxing enthusiasts nationwide to rally behind her, emphasizing the ample time available for preparation.
The Osun-born boxer is set to square off against Uganda’s Salimat Tibesigwa, a formidable opponent with a track record of winning 5 out of her last 7 fights, on February 17th, 2024, at the International Conference Center in Akwa, the capital of Anambra State.
