EPL:Iwobi scores twice as Fulham FC spank Nottingham Forest

Nigerian midfielder, Alex Iwobi scored twice as Fulham FC spanked Nottingham Forest 5-0 in the Premier League on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.

 

Iwobi was named in the starting XI by Fulham FC manager Marco Silva and repayed the faith with the first and fourth goal at Craven Cottage to secure a comfortable league win.

 

It took Fulham FC thirty minutes to get the opening goal.

 

Brazillian star, Willian found Iwobi with a pass inside the Forest penalty area. The former Everton man fired a right footed shot into the bottom left corner of the net.

 

Raul Jimenez scored the 2nd and 3rd goals for the Cottagers who enjoyed a perfect evening against Steve Copper’s men who are enduring a rough patch in the league.

 

Alex Iwobi made it 4-0 with his second of the game in the 73rd minute before Tom Cairney completed the rout with the fifth with four minutes to the end.

 

It finished 5-0 in favour of Fulham FC who will now bury memories of a painful 4-3 loss to Liverpool on Sunday.

 

Iwobi and Fulham FC will return to action vs London neighbors West Ham United FC on Sunday, December 10, 2023.

 

The Super Eagle has now scored in consecutive home games and will look to keep the form when they welcome West Ham United FC to Craven Cottage this weekend.

 

Iwobi’s international teammate, Calvin Bassey was excellent at the back for the Cottagers while full-back, Ola Aina was in action for Nottingham Forest.

 

Another player of Nigerian root who featured in the game is Tosin Adarabioyo who was in action from the start for Fulham FC, delivering a perfect performance in front of a very delighted Craven Cottage crowd.

 

The result takes Fulham FC up to 12th place on the English Premier League log with 18-points from fifteen matches while Forest are placed sixteenth.
