Edo FA: Illegality Must Stop,NFF Should Wade In

Since 2020 Edo state football association has been enmeshed in one crisis or the other.

After sanity has been restored through reconciliation spearheaded by relevant stakeholders,Edo is being rocked with another crisis.

The last administration whose tenure was to elapse on 8th of June 2023 had the tenure extended till 30th of October,2023.

Ideally,a normalization committee ought to have been set up by NFF pending when elections are held.

It has now reported the board is brazenly sponsoring one of the aspiring candidates in attempt to sideline other contestants.

It has also reported the board that is acting illegally has scheduled a meeting for Monday 13th of November 2023.

The following questions are to be answered by NFF.

Why would NFF allows Illegality to reign in Edo FA?

Why has NFF found it difficult to set up normalization committee for Edo FA as it has done in other crises-ridden states?

As the popular saying what is good for the goose is also good for the gander

If NFF is not ready to conduct NFF election,a normalization committee must be set up to conduct a fair election

If the needful is not being done by NFF now,these are the likely outcomes

–A non existence of a legal board in Edo is calling for a meeting

– –NFF should not bring themselves to court tussle, hence the need to do the needful like they have done in other states like Akwa Ibom, Kogi etc

—But in this case extension can not be given to a Board that does not even exist

It is high time sanity is restored to Edo FA, enough of Illegality and lawlessness.
