Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan fought hard to pick a valuable point on the road as they held Akwa United of Uyo to a goalless draw.

Goalkeeper Ovunda Darlintin’s heroics and the bravery of the quartet of Gbolagade Adelowo, Bamidele Ayodeji, Muritala Taiye and Olawale Mutiu l, ensured the Ibadan soccer lords got a point from the Matchday four encounter, played at the Eket Stadium, Eket.

With Alex Aghahowa, complementing the efforts of the defenders, Ayobami Junior and Daddy Abdulraham handle things at the middle, leaving debutant, Mustapha Agba, Ayobami Adekunle and Malomo Taofeek to put the host defense under pressure.

After both sides failed to find the breakthrough in the first half, coach Gbenga Ogunbote effected changes in his team with the trio of Raheem Quadry, Douglass Archiv and another debutant, Gideon Monday joining the action

Needing a win to put an end to their poor start to the season, the coach Fatai Osho tutored lads, upped their game but the Ibadan soccer lords refused to cave in.

With the match heading towards the end, the 3SC bench introduced the duo of Desmond Agbekpornu, who replaced injured skipper Malomo and Kareem Ademola.

Despite the late raid by the homers’, the Ibadan soccer lords held on till referee Magashi Donald from Benue state blew the final whistle.

The Oluyole Warriors will next Sunday, play host to Doma United of Gombe, in Matchday five encounter.
